The Ocean Drilling Program (ODP) and SCR*TEC – Texas have joined up to bring you Intensive 2000, June 12-16. The Ocean Drilling Distance Learning Program Intensive 2000 provided many opportunities to middle school teachers interested in earth science and instructional technology. Hands-on training sessions allowed these teachers to explore many nationally recognized on-line instructional tools and resources. Trackstar, a web based lesson plan tool, and Quickstar are two of the programs the participants worked with during the intensive sessions. Some sessions involved on-line activities in a variety of topic areas such as sea level, geological time and sediment concepts. The participants were also involved in an ODP distance learning demonstration.
